Grommets in the ear can cause mild side effects such as temporary ear discharge, minor discomfort, or blockage. In rare cases, they may lead to persistent ear infections, scarring of the eardrum, or the grommet falling out too early or staying in too long. Most side effects are mild and resolve on their own.
