Dear Friends:
Wow! What a stunning month of racing March has been for the auto race teams we sponsor. In fact, incredible is even better!
First, the lad we’ve been sponsoring for 5 years, Colton Herta, won his first Indy Car race in just his 5th start in the Series, the weekend of March 23-24 in Texas. At only 18 he becomes the youngest ever IndyCar winner!
Meanwhile, on the same weekend on the other side of the world, in Sanya, China, Bryan Sellers and Katherine Legge were driving in the Jaguar i-Pace E-Trophy Series, for the new all-electric Jaguar i-Pace car. Katherine was 6th. Bryan finished 3rd but, due to a technicality, was disqualified. With 6 races to go Katherine is in Second Place, just 1 point out of First in the Series, and Bryan is Third Overall, just 2 points adrift of Katherine. Stay tuned!
And the first weekend of April, Manuel and I will be in Mexico in our 650hp 1954 Oldsmobile “Olds En Nombre Solamente” (“Olds in Name Only”) to defend our 2018 Chihuahua Express title. We’ll do our best!
Annually we present the Hector Tovar award to outstanding employees who exemplify Hector’s wonderful spirit and leadership. This year they went to Josue Miranda, Ryan Soriano, and posthumously, to May Beck.
