Yes, it is a hot and sweltering Summer almost everywhere across the USA; our 17 raging wildfires here in California are among the worst ever. But – we will survive!
Just a reminder the deadline for the 33rd annual Doug Mockett & Company Design Competition is coming up soon. The deadline is traditionally the Tuesday after Labor Day, or this year, September 4, but we gratefully accommodate latecomers! We seek innovative concepts in furniture hardware, components and accessories. Please get those brilliant concepts to us, and remember, the winner receives $1000, an engraved trophy, and a 15 year royalty. Contact [email protected] for further details. We are proud to have introduced close to 100 new products from the contest over the decades.
Humbling moments: Alexander Rossi, who we sponsored to win the 2016 Indy 500, led every lap of the IndyCar race last weekend, for a magnificent triumph. On the cool-down lap he tried to wow the crowd with some burnouts and donuts, ended up sliding off the track onto the grass, stalled the motor, and needed to be towed out. See it here. Oh dear … mother said there would be days like this.
