With over 400 units and nearly 100 data module options to pick from, choosing the right combination for your project can seem like a daunting task. But it doesn’t have to be – just consider this step-by-step process to help you to narrow down your choices and make sure you’re getting exactly what you need in the style that you want.
Step 1: Determine what your needs are.
- Where is the power grommet being installed? How many users will need to use it at any time? What will they be using it for? Answering these questions will help you to figure out exactly what modules you will need in your unit and how many you’ll need of each (i.e. how many outlets, how many USB jacks, do you need Cat5 data or any other audio/video connectors?). This is also a good time to determine whether you’ll need a single-sided unit or if dual-sided makes more sense – these are typically the best choice for shared workstations, conference tables, etc.
Step 2: Pick your unit style.
- There are six different categories and a multitude of different finish combinations to choose from so you are bound to find something that fits your style. Select from pop-up, recessed, under desk, edge-mount, kitchen pop-ups, tabletop, or wireless charging units. Once you have determined what style you need for your application, it’s time to choose your finish. With multiple finish options available, you are sure to find one that blends well with your design.
Step 3: Configure your unit.
- Most of our units can be customized to suit your specific needs, whether by switching out our modular data options or ordering a completely custom configuration through our custom department. Many of our units come standard with Cat5e data jacks – if you are not planning on using the data modules that come with it, but instead plan on using alternate data or a/v options, you may want to purchase an unloaded version. These are less expensive than the loaded models since you won’t be paying for jacks you don’t need. Next, you’ll find a list of insert options that are compatible with your respective unit. Most of these options are plug-and-play and simply pop into the unit and are ready for use!
