Alexander Rossi Andretti Herta Autosport - NTT Indycar Series
Alexander Rossi exploded onto the scene with an unprecedented win as a rookie at the 100th running of the Indianapolis 500 in 2016. The win came was a result of a daring fuel-saving strategy late in the race that catapulted him into the leader position. He actually ran out of gas with half a lap to go and coasted over the finish line in an unforgettable finish. With the help of legend Bryan Herta in the pit, the team cemented their place on the Borg-Warner Trophy.
Rossi secured his place in the 101st annual Indianapolis 500 in 2017, qualifying in the front row of 33 for the start. Rossi was up front most of the day, and actually led much of the race, in the #1 position for 23 out of the 200 laps. He finished in 7th place, and Andretti Autosport Team took home the win with Sato.
