Team Mockett Wins in Hong Kong

It’s another 1-2 Finish for Team Mockett with Bryan Sellers taking 1st Place and teammate Katherine Legge taking 2nd Place. Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing is simply on fire right now in the Jaguar I-Pace eTrophy Series. Sellers now leads in the championship standings with 46 points, Legge behind him at 42 points, followed by Brazilian Sérgio Jimenez with 37.

In what has proven to be a series of “firsts”, Sellers is the first American to win a I-Pace eTrophy race. English-born Legge was recently the first female to win a professional electric race and was the first female professional racer to ever compete in the Middle East in their first race in Saudi Arabia. Sellers has stood on the podium in all three races thus far, placing 3rd, 2nd, and now 1st!

Sellers started on the grid with Brazilian Cacá Bueno taking pole after qualifying, and the conditions remained tricky and wet throughout the race. Sellers was hot on Bueno’s heels for the first few laps until Bueno had a near miss on the first turn and dropped to P5 trying to correct himself. Sellers surged ahead and never looked back, taking a commanding lead that would secure him the win.

Legge made a daring move on the outside at the very start of the race around the first turn where she advanced from P5 to P3, then moved to P2 after Bueno fell out of contention. She held onto second place for the 1-2 win for Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing for the second race in a row.

Next up, Sanya, China.
